Welcome! My name is Ms. Yolanda McDonald, and I am excited to begin another wonderful year of learning at Shirley Hills Elementary School. I have been teaching for over 10 years and am passionate about creating a classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to grow. I am entering my 11th year at Shirley Hills Elementary. I attended Fort Valley State University. From FVSU, I received two degrees: a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Infant and Child Development. 

I believe learning should be engaging, hands-on, and filled with curiosity. My goal is to help students build confidence, develop a love of learning, and celebrate their unique strengths while working together as a classroom family.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading, exploring creative projects, spending time with family and friends, and discovering new places. I look forward to partnering with you to make this an amazing school year!
