Mrs. Cheryl Combs is a proud graduate of the Houston County School System, having attended Shirley Hills Elementary School, Northside Middle School, and Northside High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, with a minor in Psychology, from Mercer University and later completed her Master's degree at Georgia College & State University. She is also endorsed in teacher support and coaching, as well as gifted education.
Mrs. Combs has been teaching first grade at Shirley Hills Elementary School since 1999. For the past 12 years, she has specialized in gifted education, where she is passionate about challenging and inspiring young learners to reach their full potential.
Mrs. Combs and her husband, Mike, have a son, Steven, a daughter, Bre, and two granddaughters, Noah and Avery. She is honored to serve the same school community that helped shape her own educational journey.
