My name is LeAnn Knapp Buttrom. I am a graduate of Perry High School. I completed my Associates in Arts in Business Administration and Education from Georgia Military College in 2004. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Education, Early Childhood Education from Macon State College in 2009, Summa Cum Laude and President’s List Scholar. I completed my Master of Education from Georgia Southwestern State University in 2011. I have been teaching at Shirley Hills Elementary, a Title 1 school, for 10 years. I have taught Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Resource. I currently teach Prekindergarten special education. I sponsor the 4-H club at Shirley Hills Elementary. I have taught Hospital Homebound/Homebase for Houston County Board of Education (HCBOE) for six years. My personal accomplishments include being a Perry High School FFA National Meats Team member making 5th in the nation at the National Convention. I was also the MVP on the Perry High School Softball team in 1998. I was inducted into the Perry Junior League Dixie Softball Hall of Fame in 2017. I enjoy learning. I learn something new every day, whether it’s when I am gardening, fishing, hunting, parenting, teaching children, or growing with God. Learning is Life. When I can help children fall in love with learning, I know I am doing something worth it.
